The start of our Brittany tour

The beautiful weather was a surprise for the start of our Brittany tour and the forecast is good until the weekend. A micro-climate occurs on the south coast of Brittany which is usually milder than on the north coast. We are staying not far from Quimper and discovering the south coast of this beautiful region. Pont Aven (pictured above) was a haven for Paul Guiguin and many of his paintings were of this area. He was not alone as many artists came and stayed here. Pont Aven now houses art galleries with a wide range of artists and artisans in the village.

Close by Pont Aven is Kerscoet, the village of thatched cottages, beautifully maintained and very cute. A great start to the tour!
